艾弗森的在艾弗森的通体二十多处文身中，
“CT”多次出现，这是艾弗森唱片公司CRUTHIK的缩写。
当然，你会发现他另外一个文身：
Jewelz———这是艾弗森的另一个名字，
在演艺界的名字。

除了在身上文上各种图案以及包揽球队所有的投篮外，
艾弗森的另一个爱好就是音乐了。

2000年，艾弗森终于完成自己的第一张个人专辑《误解（Misunderstood）》，
当然，这张专辑和它的演唱者一样，
也有另外一个名字：
《决非虚构（nonfiction）》

体育明星出歌也是很平常的事情，
但是这张专辑还没有发行就引起轩然大波。
原因是其中的一首名为《40Bars》的歌大爆粗口，
而且涉及到妇女、黑人和同性恋者这三个敏感的群体。

这首粗口歌引起社会各界人士特别是人权团体的批评。
2000年10月，
费城马丁·路德·金联合会的人士和数百名自发性的抗议者甚至组织了游行示威。
抗议人群聚集在两家当地电台门口，高呼抗议口号，
并要求电台对此唱片禁播。
NBA总裁斯特恩也要站出来和艾弗森划清界限，
称这首单曲中的一些词语“粗俗不堪甚至有反社会之嫌”。

不过艾弗森在指责和批评面前早已经从容淡定，
他首先发表了一份道歉声明：
“如果那些同性恋团体或妇女感到受了冒犯，那就在我的歌曲中寻找我想表达的深刻歉意吧。
要是孩子们认为我的歌曲在宣扬暴力，
我恳请他们不要购买这张唱片，
我希望孩子们永远生活在梦想之中。”

接着，艾弗森表示不会改变歌词内容，
因为歌词来自他的个人经历。
“在进入NBA之前，我就生活在这样一种环境里，
在我的日常生活中，我看到了太多的性、暴力和毒品。”
艾弗森说，“这（歌词）是娱乐，是一种艺术形式。”

这张专辑原来计划在2001年全明星周末前后发行，
不过被延迟，
直到现在还没有正式发行。
